Resolutions, anyone? FACT January 2018

It’s that time of the year again sweet peas, when we ditch our bad habits of the past, and turn over a new leaf. Hmmm…maybe not. Did you know that only 8% of people stick to their New Year’s resolutions? Of course there are no prizes for guessing what the two most popular resolutions are – getting fit and healthy, closely followed by losing weight. And while it’s great to make your goals health-related, most people fail to achieve them because they tend to be too restrictive and ambitious. Added to the fact that they’re often set in the wee small hours of New Year’s Eve, is there really any wonder so few of us succeed?

The New Year’s edition of FACT – January 2018

So instead of making massive life-changing goals, ensure that they’re small and incremental, perhaps building on some good habits you’ve already established. And remember that everyday signals a new start, not just January 1, so if you fail to stick to your goal on New Year’s Day, there’s always tomorrow.

Here are MY resolutions for 2018.

Thank goodness coffee is still allowed while intermittent fasting

1. Intermittent fasting – for at least 14 hours from the end of my last evening meal on. It’s the easiest way to reduce calorie intake, and therefore lose weight. No calorie-counting, no complicated recipes, it really is a no-brainer.

My favourite yoga teacher in the whole world – Jo Ozden

2. Yoga every damn day – even if it’s just me, in my living room.

3. As much horse riding as possible, because it makes me happier than anything else in the world.

Wish me luck, and Happy New Year! xx
