My Saturday Secret Sanctuary spa treatment

I have a love-hate relationship with Saturdays. Love – because it’s a day off (natch), hate – it’s so close to Sunday (no more days off). But I’ve found that my fondness towards the last day of the weekend increases if have something really special to look forward to. Something like this…

The Ritz’s salt-water pool is exclusively for members and hotel guests, but is too beautiful NOT to share
Pre-treatment in my fluffy Ritz robe

Her Secret Sanctuary spa experience at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, featuring natural Arabic ingredients and traditional treatments.*

In the white dish – Amber & Argon Oil, Hair & Scalp Mud, and Purifying Face Mask
The Black Olive Soap
And the Atlas Mud

This luxe spa treatment starts very much like a Moroccan bath, with the deliciously earthy Black Olive Soap being applied to your body, followed by a session in the Eucalyptus-scented steam room. Once back in the treatment room you’re covered in Atlas Mud, and wrapped in plastic while relaxing on a heated bed.

Feeling much like a toasty jacket potato, and forget about using your arms!

Your face and hair don’t miss out either – a Purifying Face Mask is applied, along with Hair and Scalp Mud. At this point you could be forgiven for drifting off…zzzzz. After rinsing off in your own private shower, Amber and Argon Oil is massaged into your baby-soft skin. There’s a body scrub in there somewhere as well, but I’m sure you’ll forgive me for being too relaxed to remember exactly where.

Once done, you’re carefully ushered into the Relaxation Room, to chill and refuel with almonds, ginger tea, juice and fruit.

The best way to end a pampering session

Her Secret Sanctuary is heaven from beginning to end. The treatment takes 90 minutes, and costs BD90. I’m sure you know someone who truly deserves it!

Thank you to the wonderful Ritz-Carlton Spa team, especially Cecille, for my beautiful treatment. xxx
